宁波交响乐团成立于2015年，是特聘中央音乐学院院长、著名指挥家俞峰教授担任该团艺术指导兼首席指挥。
乐团成立以来，依托宁波国际化港口城市优势，大胆创新管理体制机制，营造良好专业氛围，吸引了毕业于世界各大音乐学院的90多名优秀演奏家鼎力加盟。
2017年，乐团开创了宁波交响乐团音乐季，现已经完成了马勒第一、第五、第六交响曲，勃拉姆斯，柴可夫斯基，贝多芬、肖斯坦科维奇等系列作品专场音乐会，取得了较好的成绩。乐团与台湾创世歌剧团联合制作歌剧《卡门》，在高雄、台中、台北等地巡回演出，反响热烈。与宁波市演艺集团共同创作的民族歌剧《呦呦鹿鸣》获全国"五个一"工程奖。同时，宁波交响乐团还积极探索高雅艺术普及教育新思路，开展市民免费开放日、音乐欣赏讲座、高雅艺术进校园等活动，让交响乐走出殿堂，融入百姓艺术生活。宁波交响乐团正以其全新的办团理念、严谨的艺术追求和丰硕的艺术成果，成为宁波城市一张靓丽的"金名片"！
Ningbo Symphony Orchestra (NBSO), founded in 2015, is a public institution under Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism. It’s principal conductor and art director, Yu Feng, is also the dean of Central Conservatory of Music. Since its foundation, NBSO has attracted more than 80 outstanding performers from all over the world with its unique advantages. Located in Ningbo, an international port city, the orchestra aims to be first-class at home and well-known at abroad. Moreover, with the help of Ningbo City Committee and Government and the guidance of Yu Feng, the orchestra has created a scientific and effective management mechanism and formed a professional atmosphere. Just in there years, NBSO has worked with many renowned experts, such conductors Yu Feng, Hu Yongyan, Yang Yang, Xia Xiaotang, Chen Lin, Leon Botstein from America, Ulrich Windfuhr from German and Alexander Vitlin from Russia, violinist Ning Feng, cellist Qian Liwei, pianist Li Yundi and Ju Jin , and so on. In 2017, NBSO established the first music season, achieving great achievements. So far, the orchestra has completed series of concerts, included the fifth and sixth symphonies of Mahler, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Beethoven. Meanwhile, the orchestra and the Taiwan Creation World Opera Troupe jointly performed the song "Carmen" in Taipei, gaining a good reputation. Opera Tu Yoyo by Ningbo Performing Arts Group & Ningbo.
